Default Emergencies

There is a lot of contoversey about bike riders having to perform a swerve at around 30mph in their test.Should car drivers have to be tested on skids and swerves and not just emergency stops?

I'm sure in Finland they have to go through driving in different conditions such as snow before they can pass their test. Skid pans would be useful as a compulsory part of driver training but I don't think should be made part of the test as should driving on roads at the national speed limit as many drivers taught in London never reach over 40 or 50mph before passing.

I don't think there would be any benefit in a car to include a swerve manouvere as this is a fairly simple procedure in a car unlike on a bike where you would have to be able to demonstrate an ability to countersteer, an essential part of every day biking.

In my opinion, both driving and biking are skills in their own right but a motorcyclist needs a more thorough understanding of manouveres as balance also plays a part in riding whereas driving is just control of the wheel.
