Default McLaren: incredible situation

after the Hungary race I'm really surprised about drivers behavior both Hamilton and Alonso.

Really seems that the big boss Mr. Ron Dennis has lost the control, or no?

Maybe too involved to explain and claim his innocence about spygate?

What do you think about it?

Default R : McLaren: incredible situation

Hi Eragon,

I was surprised too to see Ron Dennis in such situation.
I don't really think that the spy story affect the relationship between him and the drivers, for sure Ron doesn't imagine that this kind of situation would have repeated after the rivalry Senna-Prost, maybe he think that Lewis doesn't made such impact on the champioship, I really don't know.
Moreover you have to consider that Mercedes and other investors want to buy the entire team, and maybe this could have forced Ron to lose the control on the situation.

It is hard to comprehend the real reason for this, I think that more than one reason are behind this situation.

yes right LMcQ.

in reality I think me too that the spy story and the actual bad relationship with Ferrari (and FIA) is a different problem respect the internal conflict between Lewis and Fernando.

In the same way, personally I'm really interested for next races.

In fact now, even if Ferrari seems a little far to give real problems CONSTANTLY to Silver Arrows [ but the next 2 circuits maybe will be a little bit more to advantage of Ferrari?!? ], for me will be exciting to see the new developments of the feud inside this top team......from sporting point of view, of course.

Anyway the situation for Mr. Dennis is, in my opinion, explained well from this picture:

For those who remember the war Senna-Prost in the eighties, you would imagine that the team has already experience to manage two strongs top drivers.
But obviously, these days all is more complex and demanding, with political, financial and business implications.
Added by the fact that the FIA is putting his nose into the team management...

One point is sure, nobody did expect Lewis to do such a good job from the start...

Hi Jeff & Eragon,

it seems that we agree with the analysis of the situation,
but now the question is :
will Ron be able to sort out of this trouble ?
If so at which price ?

Ciao,
LMcQ

Hi,
although F1 is not my thing 2 too many tyres!

It's fairly clear to me that there is a significant difference between the expectations of Alonso & Hamilton. No one expected Hamilton to be so strong. I think that Alsono was expecting to be a clear N°1 driver with preferential treatment. R Dennis doesent work like that & with Hamilton performing far better that we all thought, it's pushing Alonso in to a corner. I cant see that Alonso will stay, a mixture of ego, too strong a team mate and equal status in the team dispite winning a world championship. It must be hard to take.

We see it with riders, some team's have a N°1 others dont, & you tend to find a rider either likes one system or another.

I think it will be too hard for Alonso to adapt to Mclaren, maybe if Hamilton had not been so strong it would have been easier.
