| | Kubica Crash The latest news from Montreal is that Robert Kubica will leave a downtown hospital on Monday - with no broken bones. Contrary to earlier reports that said the 22-year-old Pole had broken a leg in his horror 280kph crash in the Canadian Grand Prix, BMW-Sauber team boss Mario Theissen confirmed that Kubica is actually fully intact.
This is a very good news, but now I think that we have to discuss a little bit on the Montreal Circuit and its terrible situation.
The question is: why Monza and Imola have been radically modified (defaced) due to safety reasons and there are still some circuits (as Montreal) that are clearly much more dangerous?
Ciao. |

| | don't know why...but that is really a shame!!!
I was so terrified after that crash yesterday! everytime these crashes remind me Daijiro or Ayrton...I do agree with Franco: every year a step forward is done for safety on board, i mean the cars are always better: but the track??
A really big hug to Robert, to his family and to the whole team! |

| | First of all let me wish a prompt return to the trackside to Robert. About, when I saw the images on TV, a nightmare returns in my mind . . . I agree with Livia when she said that every year the car safety is improve, but also agree with Franco, when he said that not every track comply with safety rules. For sure economical reason are behind the choice for a track instead another, but safety should be the first issue . . . as we seen yesterday is not always in this way. Ciao, LMcQ |

| | Le Mans 24H runs a lot with dark too, and they are not so slower than F1...The problem is that the cars are different (and the goal is different: 24H is an endurance), therefore they should make other cars just for the night race (different temperatures, different tires, ...and lamps first of all!!...)...does it make sense? |

| | NASCAR, IRL & Champ Car have plenty of night races with same cars and it does not appear to be more dangerous than day races.
Obviously, specific lights are required, and that' s why a test was already made at Indy by the FIA with the company supplying lights for these American races, to check safety issue and cameras coverage.
At the moment, Singapore 1st night race is still on for next year. |

| | Clearly not easy as there is no light on the track, wide car and narrow track..
And when it rains, it turns out as a nightmare....
But it won't be that sort of game for F1, as you need a good show. |

| | The problem is that the dangerous bits are often seen as most exciting, thats why monaco is so popular.with spa its the bend after the start line, with canada its the left turn on to the straight where they brush the wall and monaco its the whole race.
if you make it safe it will lose viewers so its as some have said economics | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
