Default 24 Le Mans

What a nice sand bagging from Audi over the Peugeot until first laps of the 24 hours...
Everyone was convinced that Peugeot had clearly the pace with an advantage of half a second over the Audi, as shown during PQ and Qualify (even if dry track window was quite narrow).
But it tuns out to be a clear advantage for Audi as the three cars had a strong pace on the first laps, clearly unexpected from the previous runs...

Peugeot made a great car within more or less one year...they have to gain reliability, and maybe also increase the power...but I guess it will be a 3 year project...so next year we could see a spectacular race, isn't it?
Do you think Audi will improve their car too? This year it seems to be exactly the same as last year…
Will we see in 2007 some other endurance race with Peugeot and Audi challenge?

There is a plan for a confrontation between Audi and Peugeot on a short race before end of year, and it was supposed to be Nurburgring 10 days ago...
Obviously with the crashes at Le Mans and 2 cars less, this was quite difficult...
But probably Silverstone later on.
Probably biggest evolution on this year's Audi is the engine with more torque, power, and less fuel consumption.
Other interesting point, is the rumor about evaluation of customers Peugeot 908....

Default 2008 Le Mans 24H

The official list of the 55 starter, from the official LM website
mardi 27 mai 2008 - 10h01

As laid down in the 2008 24 Hours’ supplementary regulations, Friday 23rd May was the cut-off date for bringing in reserves to make up the field of 55 starters for scrutineering and technical checks.

Thus, the official list of starters for the 76th Le Mans 24 Hours reads as follows:
21 LM P1s, 12 LM P2s, 10 LM GT1s and 12 LM GT2s.

After scrutineering and administrative checks on Friday and Saturday 30th-31st May at the circuit, all the teams will take part in the official test day on Sunday
1st June between 09h00 -13h00 and 14h00 -18h00.

So far, not all the teams have firmed up their driver line-up (3 per car) as they have until Tuesday 10th June at 17h00 to confirm the names of their drivers for each car.

Thumbs up 2008 Le Mans 24H

Aston Martin:Victorious for the second consecutive year
to read the article click here

A tough yet rewarding LMGT1 win for Aston Martin.

One year on from Aston Martin's first victory in the LMGT1 class in 2007 -- which was the first Le Mans win since the company triumphed overall in 1959 -- the No.009 DBR9 of David Brabham, Antonio Garcia and Darren Turner has claimed another LMGT1 win at the La Sarthe circuit.
