The
studies carried out by CRP Technology from 1996 have changed the scenario of Rapid Prototyping introducing a new concept of
Additive Manufacturing and
Rapid Manufacturing: WINDFORM® materials have allowed the technology of selective laser sintering (SLS) in order to realize
high performing parts for wind tunnel applications as well as
finished and
functional parts. All WINDFORM® materials can be
CNC machined.
The development of the Windform® line is due to the need to introduce in the market more performing Additive Manufacturing materials with properties able to distinguish them as the main
SLS materials.
All WINDFORM® materials can be CNC machined and processed with tooling machines if necessary, for example to obtain plans and seats with narrow tolerances.
The development of the Windform® line is due to the need to introduce in the market of Additive Manufacturing more suitable materials compared to those available, with particular structural properties. For this reason Windform® powders are different and can be considered as the main SLS materials in high-performing applications.
The line of WINDFORM® polyamide materials is composed of different kind of powders, patent-pending and with trademark, developed by the R&D department of CRP and sold worldwide. On the other hand Windform® PS is a polystyrene material that is used to realize disposable patterns for casting.
Windform®
XT 2.0 -
NEW - Polyamide-based material filled with carbon fiber
HDT (1.82 Mpa) 173,4 °C
UTS 83,84 Mpa
Elastic Modulus 8928,2 Mpa
Windform XT 2.0 retains the matte black color of the previous version and features improvements in mechanical properties:
+8% in tensile strength,
+22% in tensile modulus and
+46% increase in elongation at break.
Windform® LX 2.0 - Polyamide-based material filled with glass fiber
HDT (1.82 Mpa) 175,7 °C
UTS 59,9 Mpa
Elastic Modulus 6248 Mpa
Windform® GF 2.0 - NEW - Polyamide-based material filled with aluminium and glass, and it is the evolutionary substitute for Windform GF, our first generation material
HDT (1.82 Mpa) 134,30 °C
UTS 50,60 Mpa
Elastic Modulus 4304 Mpa
Windform® GF 2.0 shows a significant improvement in the HDT (almost +8%), that is, the heat deflection temperature as well as an increase in the values of tensile strength and elongation strength, therefore offering greater ductility than the previous version, appreciable in various racing applications and functions subject to greater vibrations.
Windform® FX - Polyamide-based material
HDT (1.82 Mpa) 47,10 °C
UTS 48,96 Mpa
Elastic Modulus 1357,00 Mpa
Excellent resistance to bending forces and vibrations
Windform® PS - Polystyrene-based material suited to produce complex investment casting patterns
Better surface quality and detail reproduction
Less “curling” effect in the first layers
Very low ash content, therefore perfect suitable for highly reactive alloys, such as Titanium alloys too, besides aluminium, magnesium, steel and nichel based alloys.
