The first of these materials was
Windform™ GF , followed by
Windform™ PRO B ,
WindForm™ PRO and
WindForm™ XT , each of them with high stiffness properties and wear resistance.
The latter product, created for F1, thanks to its attractive esthetical appearance and its appealing thermal and mechanical properties, extend its use within art and design, from the automotive sector to direct applications on race and street cars.
Launched at Euromold 2004,
Windform™ XT was created for the high performance SLS market, where the
carbon fibre filled material does make the difference.
It was
the first carbon fibre filled polymeric material ever launched on the SLS market and represents the last technological goal, having been created expressly for
laser sintering technology. This product is not only a new material, it means a revolution in Rapid Prototyping and highlights once again CRP as a worldwide leader in the research and development of vanguard solutions for SLS technology.
So CRP enabled SLS technology to make the big step forward: from Rapid Prototyping applications to Rapid Manufacturing.
Always willing to satisfy its customers, with their functional and aesthetical engineering requests, CRP is constantly studying new materials and Windform™ materials are commercialized all around the world by CRP Technology Srl. The newest addition is
Windform™FX, that's being launched in this period.
F1 Front Nose Cone
Aerodynamic application for F1 wind tunnel, positioned on the front of an F1 car and supporting the front wing (and so called “Nose” of an F1 car).
The required base properties are: dimensional accuracy, detail definition and the best compromise between stiffness and resistance to vibration.
The stiffness is the principal property for the wind tunnel models.
Old fashion bycicle
Mechanical assembly of complex gears, all made by Windorm™ XT and Rapid Prototyping Selective Laser Sintering technology.
Thanks to WINDFORM™ XT’s high stiffness and Ultimate Tensile Strength it’s possible to manufacture realistic working assemblies.
